“Made In Women
The result of an Erasmus+ cooperation project to promote women’s entrepreneurship and professional integration, Made In Women is a Qualiopi-certified dressmaking and sewing training workshop.
It is aimed at women in highly vulnerable situations, with or without a migrant background, and who are victims of or at risk of prostitution.
The workshop enables them to acquire skills in the design and manufacture of eco-responsible textile products.
Professional skills
to promote integration
The participants, mainly women from the Caribbean diaspora, are often single mothers with a poor command of French and facing multiple forms of violence: physical, psychological, economic and institutional.
Located in the heart of Fort-de-France, within the Trois Lieu, the workshop offers them a safe space where they can rebuild their lives, gain confidence and acquire the professional skills essential to their social and economic inclusion.
Combating menstrual insecurity: a priority commitment
Menstrual precariousness is one of Made In Women’s major areas of action.
The workshop manufactures menstrual panties and washable, reusable sanitary towels.
These products are then distributed free of charge to women in vulnerable situations, including female prisoners and young girls in schools.
By offering sustainable, affordable alternatives, Made In Women gives these women access to quality sanitary protection, while helping to reduce costs and environmental impact.
Women’s nets
This project combines inclusion, gender equality, women’s rights, empowerment, eco-responsibility and recycling. It aims to reduce marine pollution by collecting abandoned nets, in collaboration with local fishermen. In addition to its environmental impact, the project has a strong social dimension: the recovered nets are transformed into unique creations by women in vulnerable situations, who are trained in sewing thanks to DA&DA’s initiatives.
