Goals
• Strengthening the entrepreneurial skills of women, particularly those belonging to the most vulnerable groups (migrants, single mothers, unemployed individuals, etc.) in Italy, Madagascar, and Martinique.
• Exploring the potential of community-based enterprise as a form of responsible tourism: where the community, in line with the principles of social and economic justice, truly takes center stage.
• Providing young people, social workers, community leaders, and organizations working with young women with educational tools that incorporate the gender dimension in the field of social entrepreneurship, applied to the responsible tourism sector.
• Encouraging cooperation between youth organizations and public authorities to establish policies conducive to the development of responsible tourism and women’s entrepreneurship.
Target Group(s)
Women entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs, youth leaders and local authorities.
Activities
- Study visit and international conference on responsible tourism in Perugia, Italy.
- Entrepreneurship training in Antsirabe (Madagascar) and start-up support for a local responsible tourism organization (LORT).
- International Responsible Tourism Week in Martinique.
- Creation of a methodological guide to women entrepreneurship in tourism
- Creation of a community tourism website.
